Ageing has nearly universal patterns – risk of death rises exponentially with age and so does incidence of disease, whereas physical function drops linearly with age. I'll present a minimal mathematical model that explains these patterns in terms of molecular damage that drives aging. I'll discuss how this theory informs interventions to slow aging. I'll focus on Menopause as an example where millions of lab tests data can be used to expose a physiological cliff. The talk will be interactive on the whiteboard.
