High Energy Physics Seminar
On Theories of Neutrino Masses and Dark Matter
Pavel Fileviez Perez,
Case Western University,
The origin of neutrino masses is one of the most pressing issues in particle physics. After the discovery of the Standard Model Higgs boson, we know how the massive gauge bosons and the charged fermions acquire masses, but the mechanism for neutrino masses is unknown.
In this talk I will discuss the standard theoretical paradigm for neutrino masses, and show how alternative theories predict interesting connections between the origin of neutrino masses and dark matter. I will discuss the theoretical predictions needed to understand the testability of these theories at collider and low energy experiments.
The talk is in 469 Lauritsen.
