Dan graduated Caltech with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2014. He quickly found his passion in working at startups, joining Kuna (YC W'14) as an early employee and helping the company build the country's first outdoor, ML-powered security cameras. He moved back to Los Angeles in 2017 and joined Elementary as CTO while it was being incubated at Idealab, focusing initially on low-cost collaborative robotic arms and eventually pivoting to ML-powered quality control cameras for manufacturing. Excited by the opportunity to push the boundaries of quality control and product development, Dan joined Lumafield's executive team in 2022 and now manages the engineering divisions building affordable and accessible CT scanners for the world's leading product companies.
